At least 17 people were killed and more than 60 people were missing in a shipwreck in Madagascar

According to Malagasy media reports, a ship carrying about 130 passengers set out from Antananbei, northeast of Malaysia, on the morning of the 20th, and the cabin of the engine tank was flooded on its way to Suanellana-Yongu, and then sank.

According to the report, rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident to carry out search and rescue work. So far, at least 17 people have been killed, more than 40 people have been rescued, and more than 60 people have disappeared. Malagasy Prime Minister Ntsai and government personnel have gone to the scene to direct rescue and investigation.

The head of Madagascar’s port department said that the ship involved was a cargo ship and had no passenger qualification, and Antananbei, the place of origin, was not an officially recognized port.
