Johannesburg, December 8Following the refinery explosion last week, KwaZulu Natal Province, South Africa, suffered another explosion this week. On the 8th, a serious explosion occurred in a chemical plant in the province, injuring at least 13 people.

The chemical plant is located west of Durban, the capital of KwaZulu Natal Province.

On that day, 115 workers in the chemical plant were working, a fire unexpectedly came.

Due to the filling of flammable substances and the influence of windy weather, the chemical plant was swallowed up by flames soon after the fire, which also directly increased the difficulty of firefighters.

What’s more, after the fire, there were two consecutive explosions at the chemical plant site, which injured at least 13 people. In addition, the main roads around the chemical plant were temporarily closed due to the accident, which led to serious traffic jams.

According to the person in charge of the chemical plant, the factory mainly processes cosmetics, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

This is the second explosion in a week in KwaZulu Natal province, where Durban is located. In last week’s refinery explosion, a total of seven people were sent to hospitals for treatment because of inhaling a large amount of smoke and dust.

At present, with the approach of Christmas and New Year holidays in South Africa, production safety has once again become the focus of attention of South African people.
