On the afternoon of the 16th local time, a beheading attack occurred in Yvelines near Paris and a man was killed. Currently, the French Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office has been involved in the investigation.

The attack occurred at around 5 pm local time on the 16th. A man was beheaded in Confranc-Saint Honorina, Yvelines. The suspect is an 18-year-old man. After killing the victim with a knife, he uploaded a related photo on his social account. The suspect was shot dead by the police who arrived later. It is unclear whether the suspect is on the list of French intelligence services.

After the incident, some parents said that the murdered man was a history teacher in a middle school in Confranc-Saint Honorina, Yvelines. He once showed a cartoon about a Muslim prophet to students in class on October 5. Investigators are currently investigating whether this matter is related to the beheading incident.

French President Macron, who participated in the EU summit in Belgium, and French Interior Minister Darmanin, who is visiting Morocco, have now returned to Paris and went to the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of the Interior to learn about the situation.
