Hong Kong’s Coronavirus outbreak continued, recently confirmed infected with the variant Coronavirus of an Indian man concealed travel, resulting in the spread of the virus in Hong Kong, the man was formally arrested by the Hong Kong police on the 8th. The Hong Kong Department of Health subsequently announced that it would charge them with breaching section 3 (4) of the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Disclosure) Regulations (Cap. 599D) “providing false or misleading information” and section 3 (2) “failing to comply with the requirements for the provision of required information”.
According to the Hong Kong Department of Health, the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection followed up the epidemiological investigation of the confirmed cases by the man suspected of providing false or misleading information to authorized persons on 16 April and the woman for failing to comply with the request of authorized persons to provide the required information on 17 April. The case will appear in the Kowloon City Magistrates Court on May 10.
A spokesman for the Hong Kong Department of Health said it would be highly irresponsible to conceal or provide false or misleading information during the tracking period and would delay virus tracking and pose a major threat to public health, reiterating that the Department of Health would take any breach of the relevant regulations seriously.
