According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, a thermal power station exploded on the 20th local time in Angren city, Tashkent Oblast, in the eastern part of the country, killing three people and injuring three others.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine said that the accident occurred at 11:42 a.m. local time.
Preliminary judgment was that combustible dust exploded after mixing with air.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine has taken measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident in the first place.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine pointed out that three people died in the accident and three others were burned to varying degrees.
At the time of the accident, the thermal power plant was undergoing routine maintenance, so the accident did not cause a wider range of casualties or damage to infrastructure and technical equipment.
At present, an investigation into the accident has been launched.
