An armed attack on a police station in Myitkyina, Myanmar

At about 19:30 local time on April 11, an armed attack was carried out on a police station in Lakon District, Myitkyina City, the capital of Kachin State, Myanmar.

According to nearby residents, the whole conflict lasted for more than ten minutes, when two loud explosions and dozens of intensive gunfire were heard. Witnesses said that after the conflict began, police officers had been seen escaping from the police station.

At present, there is no news of casualties in the conflict.
