January 11th – After the riots in the U.S. Congress, the family of Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar asked Gosar to leave Congress.

Gossa’s three siblings wrote together to Arizona Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalwa, asking for his help to drive their brother out of Congress, according to the Hill.

This is the third time in three years that Goza’s family has publicly opposed him. Grijalwa’s office said he had received the letter, but stressed that the focus would be to hold Trump accountable.

“My first concern is to dismiss the president as soon as possible, but we cannot ignore the role of some members of Congress in promoting unfounded conspiracy theories that have led to the siege of the Capitol,” Grijalwa said in a statement. It’s no secret that someone spilled gasoline on the burning fire.

“If a congressman violates their oath of office and acquiesces in a mob to overthrow the results of democratic elections, their actions should be investigated and they should bear the consequences including being expelled,” Grihalwa added.

“We know he’s an extremist and we take it very seriously, and I think my brother has been spreading misinformation,” Goza’s sister Jennifer Gossa said in an interview.

I have struggled to believe accountability so far, but I think last week’s violence is the bottom line.” Tim Gossar said that when people talk about what happened that day, they are talking about treason and overthrowing the government.

“If this does not reach the level of expulsion, what will be done to be fired?”

In 2018, David Goza and five other siblings publicly supported Gossa’s opponent, calling their brother “seemingly becoming more and more extreme” and often saying “strange things”.

Goza and Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz raised opposition to the vote in the electoral college in Arizona in last week’s joint congressional meeting. Protesters broke into Congress as Congress debated against opposition.
