The report shows that African countries are relaxing their own visa restrictions on other African countries. 

With the official operation of the African Continental Free Trade Area on January 1, 2021, the opening of visas will further strengthen the free flow of people, capital, goods and services, and promote the development of business, investment, innovation and tourism in African countries.

According to the “Africa Visa Openness Index 2020”, for ordinary African people, 54% of African countries are currently visa-free or visa-on-arrival, an increase of 9% over 2016; 24 African countries can provide electronic visas; Serbia The three countries of the Yells, Benin and Gambia are visa-free for all African tourists. 

From the perspective of visa openness index rankings, East Africa and West Africa countries rank higher.

Dr. Sharif, vice president of the African Development Bank, said that the opening of visas will help Africa reposition its future development. 

The Vice-Chairman of the African Union Commission Quisi Quarti said that as African countries reopen their borders and restart their economies, the liberalization of the visa system will promote Africa’s rapid progress to restore the economy.
