The Presidential Palace of Afghanistan issued a statement on the 3rd announcing that the day was a national day of mourning, mourning the victims of the terrorist attack on Kabul University on the 2nd.

The statement said that prayer ceremonies will be held in mosques across the country, and government agencies and all embassies and consulates abroad will lower their flags at half mast.

The Kabul University in the west of the capital Kabul was attacked on the 2nd, killing at least 25 people, including 3 attackers, and wounding 22 others. The extremist organization “Islamic State” announced that it had committed the attack.

Afghan President Ghani issued a statement on social media on the evening of the 2nd, strongly condemning the terrorist attack, stating that the Afghan government will avenge “every drop of Afghan student blood that flows today.”

This is the second attack on an educational institution in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, in the past two weeks. On October 25, a suicide bomb attack occurred outside a private education center in the Kabul Danish district of western Kabul, resulting in 24 deaths and 57 injuries, all of whom were civilians.
