Afghanistan launches large-scale coronavirus vaccination

by YCPress

Afghanistan began to vaccinate against the coronavirus on Tuesday, with priority groups such as members of the security forces, health workers and journalists, but the recent violent conflict will pose great challenges to vaccination.

Afghanistan received 500,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Indian Serum Institute (SII) earlier this month, according to the report.

At a ceremony held at the presidential palace, Waheed Majroh, Acting Minister of Health of Afghanistan, said that vaccines would be provided to 250,000 people, mainly from the security, health, education and media sectors.
