May 10, local time, the city government of Yakutsk, the capital of Russia’s Yakut region, announced that primary and secondary school students (grades 1 to 8) in the affected city had been converted to distance learning from the 11th.

According to local media reports, in the past 24 hours, a total of 65 new confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported, five of which are juveniles.

Two children are in serious condition and have started using ventilators. Reported that the incidence of coronavirus among local minors is increasing.

Earlier, Russia’s anti-pandemic department issued a report that the discovery of a coronavirus variant found in the UK in the Yakut region, coupled with locals not wearing masks, ignoring social distances and increasing aggregation, led to an increase in local incidence.
