February 3rd the Asian Football Confederation issued an obituary saying that former Iranian international Ansarian died of COVID-19 at the age of 43.
According to foreign media reports, from 1998 to 2007, Ansarian participated in the game with the Iranian national team. A week ago, another former Iranian international, Minawand, also died of COVID-19 at the age of 45.
In the 1998 World Cup qualifiers, Minawand played as a substitute against the national football team.
