January 11 Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf announced his resignation.
According to U.S. media reports, Wolfe called on Trump last week to condemn the mob rushing into the U.S. Capitol, and the White House subsequently withdrew his nomination to appoint Wolf as the full Secretary of Homeland Security.
Wolf said that Peter Gaynor, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will take his place.
