According to the report of the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Germany, so far, 42 cases of venous thrombosis after AstraZeneca vaccine have been found in Germany, and another 23 cases have had thrombocytopenia.
Of the 42 thrombosis cases, 35 were women aged 20-63. According to the report of the German disease control agency Robert Koch Institute, women who are vaccinated against AstraZeneca are more likely to have thrombosis than men. A total of eight people are suspected to have died from thrombus problems, including five women and three men.
At present, AstraZeneca vaccine is generally used in Germany for people over 60 years old.
Grenach, a researcher at the University of Greifswald in Germany, said that there is a causal relationship between some antibodies produced after vaccination and complications of thrombosis, but because of the small number of samples, it is not certain what substance causes some people to produce specific antibodies and form thrombosis.
