A small number of young people in the United States reported myocarditis after receiving the Coronavirus vaccine, the CDC investigated

May 24 2021 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating a small number of young people and adolescents who reported heart problems after receiving the Coronavirus vaccine, the U.S. Reported.

The CDC’s Coronavirus Vaccine Safety Technical Working Group reported that there are currently “relatively few” reports of myocarditis in young people after vaccination and that “most cases are mild,” but said it should still communicate with vaccine providers on the issue.

The CDC says the heart problem may be related to mRNA vaccines produced by Modner and Pfizer.

Myocarditis is reported mainly in adolescents and young people, and is more common in men than in women, usually about four days after the second injection.

The CDC’s New Coronation Vaccine Safety Technical Working Group discussed the issue at a meeting on May 17.

The FDA approved Pfizer’s use earlier this month after Pfizer tested a vaccine on more than 2,000 U.S. teen volunteers.

Modner is also seeking authorization for use by teenagers, and the company says trials have shown its vaccines to be safe and effective in people between the ages of 12 and 17.

A 2020 study published in the medical journal StatPearls found that about 1.5 million people develop myocarditis each year, equivalent to 10 to 20 cases per 100,000 people.

Viral infections are the most common cause of the disease, but bacteria, cancer and exposure to environmental toxins can also cause myocarditis.

The U.S. Department of Defense said last month it was investigating 14 cases of myocarditis in the military that may have been caused by vaccinations.

CDC Director Michael Wallensky has previously said the agency has found no link between vaccines and heart disease or myocarditis.

“We haven’t seen any signal yet, in fact we’ve deliberately looked for it in more than 200 million doses of vaccination.” Valenski said at the White House briefing on the outbreak on April 27.

Today, more than 162 million people in the United States have been vaccinated against at least one dose of the Coronavirus vaccine. About 4.6 million people between the ages of 12 and 18 have been vaccinated against at least one dose, according to the CDC.

The CDC noted that the incidence of myocarditis in young people was “not different from the expected baseline incidence” after the Coronavirus vaccine was given.

Some doctors and health experts believe the new coronavirus can cause myocarditis and other heart damage, but the link is still under study.
