According to a Zambian national broadcaster local time on January 2, Zambian police spokesman Esther Totongo said that a serious traffic accident occurred in Luapura Province, Zambia, at about 8 p.m. local time on January 1.
Seven pedestrians were killed on the spot because a Toyota pickup truck suddenly lost control and rushed to the roadside.
Esther Tongo said the driver who caused the accident had been charged with “dangerous driving caused seven deaths” and would appear in court soon.
