Kabul, January 1 Afghan government officials said on the 1st that an attack on a reporter occurred in the western Gour province of Afghanistan that day, resulting in the death of one journalist.
Afghan Dawn TV quoted Mohamed Arif Aber, spokesman of the Ghur provincial government, as saying that Bismila Adil Aimak, the director of the local “Voice of Goul” radio station, was attacked and killed by unidentified armed men on the outskirts of Mount Firoz, the provincial capital.
According to the report, Amark is the sixth journalist to be killed in an attack in Afghanistan since November 7, 2020.
At present, no organization or individual has declared that the attack was carried out.
According to the data of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee, a total of 12 journalists and media workers were killed in various attacks throughout Afghanistan in 2020.
