April 7 According to the report of the Greek European Union News Agency quoted by the European Network, the Greek authorities confirmed on April 6 that one of the German tourists who entered Greece a few days ago were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. Previously, on March 29, the first batch of German tourists flew to Greece in 2021, and several planes carrying hundreds of German tourists landed in Heraklion and Hania, Crete.

Of the hundreds of German tourists who arrived in Greece on March 29, it was reported that 15 were a team shooting German reality shows, and the rest of the tourists went to Crete for vacation. Before they arrived in Crete, all the personnel tested for nucleic acid and the results were negative. According to local media sources, these German tourists have not been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.

According to the report, a German tourist was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus soon after arriving in Heraklion and currently needs to be quarantined in his declared residence for 10 days. After the quarantine period, he will need to have a nucleic acid test again and the result is negative before he can be released from the isolation.

In fact, in addition to German tourists, Crete has received tourists from countries such as the Netherlands and Switzerland since March 27. The medical team of the Greek National Public Health Organization has also been stationed at the airport to conduct rapid tests for passengers for the novel coronavirus. Previously, the Greek government announced that it would open tourism on May 14 to accept three categories of tourists who have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, or have produced antibodies, or have tested negative for the virus.
