According to a French media report on the 2nd local time, a 38-year-old woman in the country died after being vaccinated against AstraZeneca recently. Her family filed a complaint with the Toulouse prosecutor’s office on the 2nd.

According to a lawyer quoted by French commercial FM TV, the woman was in good health and worked in a medical education institution for the disabled.

In mid-March this year, as a high-risk group of people with disabilities, the woman was vaccinated against AstraZeneca, and her health deteriorated shortly after that, and she entered the University of Toulouse Medical Center for treatment. On March 29, the woman died of a cerebral thrombus.

Counsel said that the purpose of filing the complaint was to hope that the prosecution could conduct more investigations, especially in forensic science, to determine whether there was a causal link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and the woman’s death.

Last month, a 24-year-old medical student in Nantes, France, also died of a thrombus after being vaccinated against AstraZeneca. At present, the Nantes District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation in this regard.

In mid-March, France and other European countries suspended the use of AstraZeneca vaccine because it might cause thrombosis. After the European Drug Administration confirmed the safety and effectiveness of AstraZeneca vaccine, France and other countries resumed the use of AstraZeneca vaccine.

The French Drug Administration has reconfirmed that the risk of thrombosis caused by the vaccine is very small, and the advantages of vaccination outweigh the disadvantages. At present, France only recommends AstraZeneca vaccine for people over 55 years old.
