Egyptian media Seven Daily reported on the 15th that a fire accident occurred in the Roma warehouse in Alexandria port on the 14th, causing two of a five-storey building to collapse. After seven hours of rescue operations, the fire has now been controlled.

A working team of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Prosecutor’s Office of Alexandria, Mohammad Rassin, has arrived at the scene of the accident in Alexandria to investigate the cause of the accident.

Preliminary investigation showed that the warehouse where the fire occurred was stored with alcoholic substances such as wine and flammable products such as perfumes, which, coupled with the strong winds and bad weather at that time, made the fire spread rapidly and difficult to control.

The prosecution has ordered the establishment of an engineering committee to determine the real cause of the building’s fire.

Alexandria said in a statement that the fire caused the collapse of the three and four floors of the five-storey warehouse building, and the navy and Alexandria fire trucks have been mobilized to participate in the rescue work.

Due to the destruction of buildings, the residents of the surrounding area have been evacuated. At present, no loss of life or equipment has been caused, and no explosion has occurred.
