Australian Prime Minister Morrison apologized to a woman on Tuesday, who claimed that she was raped by an unknown colleague in Parliament, and Morrison promised a thorough investigation into the working culture of the government.

The woman said she was raped by a Liberal staff member in the office of Defense Secretary Linda Reynolds in March 2019, according to the report. She told the local media that she had spoken to the police in early April of that year, but she decided not to formally complain because of concerns about her career prospects.

The Australian Capital Police confirmed that they had spoken to a complainant in April 2019, but she chose not to make a formal complaint.

The woman also said that she had informed senior staff of Reynolds’ office of the attack, and she was then asked to talk in the violated conference room.

Defense Secretary Reynolds confirmed on Monday that she was informed of the complaint last year.
