David Dinkins New York’s first African-American mayor died at the age of 93

Later, he also served as the mayor of Manhattan, New York. In 1989, Dingkins was elected mayor of New York City. After leaving office, Dingkins also served as a professor at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, the report said.
In October this year, Dingkins’ wife Joyce died at the age of 89.
