November 20 According to foreign media reports, U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Schumer said on the 19th that Senate Republican Leader McConnell has agreed to resume negotiations with Democrats on a new round of coronavirus relief.
“Last night, they agreed to sit down [consultations] and the people concerned will start negotiations today or tomorrow to see if we can reach a good coronavirus relief plan,” Schumer said.

However, congressional aides from both parties revealed that Schumer may have exaggerated the progress of the situation. At present, the two sides are starting negotiations on government funds to avoid the “stoppage” of the U.S. government on December 11.
In response, Schumer’s office did not immediately respond to requests for clarification, nor did McConnell’s office respond immediately to requests for comment.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, the U.S. Congress has passed four rounds of economic stimulus packages, with an allocation of nearly $3 trillion, but many aids, including unemployment insurance, have expired.
Earlier, the U.S. media quoted analysis as saying that if the two parties fail to agree on a new round of economic stimulus plans in the near future, it may lead to another economic downturn in the fourth quarter of the United States.
