The Egyptian Football Association issued a statement on the 16th saying that Egyptian star Elnene tested positive for the new coronavirus on the 16th. This is the second Egyptian star confirmed to be infected with coronavirus within a week after Salah was diagnosed coronavirus pneumonia.
The statement said that Ernene is currently in good health and has begun to receive isolation treatment.
Coronavirus test was conducted before the Egyptian team played away against Togo in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier. The statement said that after the game, Ernene will return to Cairo to continue treatment.
On November 13, Egyptian star Salah tested positive for coronavirus in a routine test. He is currently isolated in a hotel in the tourist city of Guna on the Red Sea.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health issued a statement on the 16th that Salah will undergo another PCR test on the 19th.
If the test result is negative, he will resume training.
