May 19 – According to Yonhap News Agency on the 19th, although U.S. President Biden will visit South Korea tomorrow (May 20), South Korea’s new presidential palace is still being renovated. South Korean President Yoon Xiyue will greet Biden on the first floor, but the floor has not yet been completed. The hall is full of building materials, workers go in and out, and the employees of the presidential palace are suffering from the noise.
After Yin Xiyue took office, she moved her office from Qingwatai to the Ministry of National Defense Building. At present, the new presidential palace is being fully renovated. Except for the fifth floor of the upcoming US-South Korea summit, construction is starting on all other floors.
Since the press conference hall is expected to take another month to complete, the joint press conference of the US and South Korean leaders will be held in the auditorium on the first basement, and more than 300 people will attend.
Members of the South Korean presidential palace said on the 19th that from the afternoon of the same day until the end of Biden’s visit to South Korea, the renovation work will be suspended to treat each other with courtesy.
