Media said that Boeing 737 Max was approved by US organizers for the return flight in the shortest month
Reuters: on the 9th using multiple sources from the FAA that the Boeing 737 MAX series of passenger aircraft will be approved by the regulatory agency for the go-around as soon as this month on the 18th.
The Boeing 737 MAX passenger plane suffered two air crashes in October 2018 and March 2019, killing a total of 346 people. This model has been “grounded” since March 2019.
FAA Administrator Steve Dixon told Reuters in a statement that the agency has entered the final stage of reviewing Boeing’s design changes to the 737 MAX series of passenger planes and is expected to “complete in the next few days.”
Three sources familiar with the approval process for the go-around said that the Federal Aviation Administration will lift the “no-fly order” against the Boeing 737 MAX on the 18th as soon as this month.
Boeing declined to respond to the above news.
Reuters interpreted that the approval of Boeing 737 MAX’s go-around is a crucial step for Boeing to get out of the crisis. Affected by the grounding and the impact of Coronavirus pandemic, the aircraft manufacturer reduced production and abolished thousands of jobs. There are about 450 Boeing 737 MAX airliners waiting for delivery in the factory.
After the Federal Aviation Administration releases it, airline operators who want to go back to the Boeing 737 MAX must complete software upgrades and corresponding pilot training. This process takes at least 30 days.
Southwest Airlines, the world’s largest operator of the Boeing 737 MAX, previously stated that it will take several months to meet the FAA’s return to flight requirements and will not arrange 737 MAX flights before the second quarter of 2021.
The European Aviation Safety Agency said in September that the Boeing 737 MAX may obtain a go-around permit in November and resume flights before the end of the year. Air Canada CEO Klin Rovinescu expected on the 9th that the Boeing 737 MAX will return to Canada early next year. (Liu Xiuling) (Xinhua News Agency special feature)
