Afghan Vice President Amrula Saleh spoke to News18 television about the fall of the Afghan government in an interview, saying the reasons for the collapse of the Afghan government come mainly from three aspects: U.S. pressure on the Afghan government, Afghanistan peace talks the U.S. de facto acknowledges the Taliban and afghan government lack of real-time information.
Saleh said in an interview that the United States has been pressuring the Afghan government for nearly two years to release prisoners or reduce military and other assistance. Saleh said the release of prisoners means strengthening the Taliban, and the United States cannot guarantee that the prisoners will not return to the front lines. Saleh also noted that the Peace Talks in Afghanistan initiated by Qatar have in fact “legitimized the Taliban”.
Saleh pointed out that these major reasons, together with other problems led to the collapse of the Afghan government. He also said NATO and the United States could withdraw, but the Afghan people could not be evacuated, the chaos at Kabul airport is only the “tip of the iceberg”, the United States will pay the price for misjudgment.
