BOGOTA, Aug. 19 2021 Caracas news: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced a cabinet reshuffle on the 19th, replacing several cabinet members, Ambassador To China Prasencia will replace Areasa as foreign minister.
The cabinet reshuffle involved the selection of ministers from the Ministries of the Interior, Justice and Peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, women and gender equality, the Ministry of Ecological and Mining Development and the Six Government departments of the Ministry of Industry and Production.
Maduro said in a message posted on social media the same day that the new Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Ceballos, and the current Minister of Youth and Sports, Maldonado, will serve as vice-presidents, both responsible for civil security and socialism and territorial affairs. Areasa will become minister of industry and production.
Maduro said the changes would help the ruling United Socialist Party prepare for local elections in November.
