Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who attended the EU summit on Friday, said the EU should unite to tackle the migrant issue, not be indifferent.
At a press conference on the same day, about non-governmental organizations exposed the Mediterranean sea dead migrant women and children bodies washed up on Libyan beaches photos, Draghi said the contents of the photos are unacceptable.
He has provided the EU with recent data on Mediterranean migration and raised the issue of migration with the European Council.
He said immigration had not been on the agenda for a long time and that avoidance would not make it go away and that the European Council would discuss it at its next meeting.
