Reported that the “Fortuna” pipe ship is currently in accordance with the permit and the local authorities of the statement to lay the pipeline. German regulators have approved the company’s continued construction of a 2km-long project in German waters.
According to U.S. media reports, U.S. Secretary of State John Blinken said on the 19th of this month, the U.S. side decided to participate in the construction of the “North Stream 2” natural gas pipeline “North Stream 2” agroncies and its head Matthias Varnish sanctions exemption. Nord Stream 2 is a subsidiary of Gazprom and is headquartered in Switzerland.
According to a State Department report to Congress, Blinken decided to waive sanctions against the company and its leaders after consulting with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, saying it was “in the national interest.” Because imposing the sanctions would affect U.S. relations with Germany, the European Union and other European allies, the report said.
However, the report also targeted four Russian ships and four Russian entities. Blinken also reiterated the same day the U.S. side opposed the completion of the “North Stream 2” project position.
The U.S. government has identified Nord stream 2 as a Russian geostrategic project and has repeatedly asked Germany to abandon the project and impose sanctions on its participants. Germany and Russia said the project was commercial. The Russian government says the U.S. obstruction of the Nord Stream 2 project is an attempt to squeeze Russia’s energy market share in an attempt to sell more U.S. gas to Europe at high prices.
The Nord Stream 2 project, which aims to build a gas pipeline from Russia to Germany via the Baltic Sea, bypasses Ukraine to deliver Russian gas to Germany and other European countries, and is about 1,200 kilometers long, with more than 90 percent of the pipeline completed.
