Hugo Lopez, head of the General Administration of Military Health, reportedly told the media that as part of the third phase of the national Coronavirus vaccination program, health authorities will provide 10,000 doses of the Coronavirus vaccine to uniformed personnel.
The Coronavirus vaccinations include active-duty military personnel and police officers who are involved in policing. In addition, consideration will be given to uniformed personnel in the provinces of Amazon and Putumayo, which share the border with Brazil, of whom 1,702 have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
In addition, Lopez also detailed the current situation of Coronavirus infection among uniformed personnel. According to statistics, a total of 28,550 uniformed personnel in Colombia have been infected with the Coronavirus, of which 68.8 per cent are active duty personnel and 12.7 per cent are retired personnel; Lopez stressed that uniformed personnel are one of the largest groups infected with the Coronavirus.
