May 17 2021 Two people have been killed and at least 219 injured in a collapse inside an Israeli synagogue in a Jewish settlement in West Jerusalem on Saturday, Russian satellite news agency reported.
It is reported that the church where the accident occurred was not completed, but the incident still about 650 worshippers gathered at the church to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Pentecost (Shavuot) or ( Sha’fat ), the celebration was not officially authorized. Video from the scene showed a grandstand inside the church collapsed as a large number of worshippers gathered, and worshippers in the stands fell apart.
Local police said the accident was due to “negligence and lack of responsibility” and that those responsible were likely to be arrested.
Two weeks ago, 45 people were killed and 150 injured in a stampede at a religious gathering in Mount Meron in northern Israel.
