May 12 2021 The death toll rose to nine in a school shooting in Kazan, capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, Russian satellite network reported.
According to reports, Russian Health Minister Mlashko said that after the Kazan school shooting, 18 injured children are being treated in hospital, eight of whom suffered gunshot wounds.
“There are currently 18 patients at the Children’s Hospital, six of whom are in serious condition,” Mr Mulashko said. Eight children suffered gunshot wounds, while others were cut by shards of glass or during the evacuation. ”
“There are six children in serious condition, two of whom are in a very serious situation,” he said. ”
On May 11, local time, a shooting occurred at the 175th Middle School in Kazan, capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
Seven children, a female teacher and a female employee were killed and 21 injured in the shooting, according to local authorities. The chief executive of the Republic said the gunman was a 19-year-old man with a legally registered firearm. The Russian Investigation Commission has opened a criminal case.
Following the crime, kazan city entered a state of counter-terrorism operations, and security measures were stepped up at all educational institutions in the city. The Republic of Tatarstan declared 12 May a day of mourning for the Republic.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed deep concern about the shooting. In the wake of the Kazan shootings, Putin ordered a tightening of gun control rules, and he ordered Viktor Zolotov, commander of the Russian National Guard, to enact new rules on the circulation of civilian weapons.
