Many states in the United States have been hit by winter storms for several days.
Texas is currently losing 40% of its power generation due to extremely cold weather, multiple natural gas wells and pipelines, and wind turbines of wind turbines that cannot operate properly due to freezing.
Under the extreme imbalance between supply and demand, Texas’s electricity price soared wildly.
Earlier this week, Texas wholesale electricity prices exceeded $10,000/MWh, equivalent to more than $10 per kilowatt-hour, nearly 200 times higher than usual electricity prices.
