February 6th – US President Biden took Air Force One to his hometown Wilmington, Delaware, from Andrews Joint Base, for the weekend.
He jogged up the steps and told the reporter accompanying him, “This is a great plane.” On the previous day (4th), someone broke into the base where Air Force One was located.
According to the New York Times, this is Biden’s second flight in Air Force One after 20 years, and his first time since taking office.
Biden first flew Air Force One in 2000, when he visited Colombia as one of the representatives of then-President Clinton. During the Obama administration, for security reasons, the vice president was banned from flying with the president on Air Force One, and Biden was not allowed to ride on Air Force One.
On the 4th, local time, the base where Air Force One was located was illegally invaded.
A man boarded the C-40 transport plane without authorization, which belongs to the fleet of senior government officials.
