“This round of testing took place between December 17, 2020 and January 8, 2021, covering several states across the country, with more than 28,000 ordinary people and more than 7,000 medical staff,” Vargava said at a press conference.
Among them, the positive detection rate of antibody in medical staff is relatively high, and 25.7% of the respondents are positive.
A large portion of the nation’s population is still vulnerable to COVID-19, Balgava said.
Although vaccines are available, pandemic prevention requirements such as wearing masks, social distancing and hand hygiene cannot be relaxed.
Unlike nucleic acid testing, which aims to confirm whether the human body is infected with COVID-19 at the time of testing, the main function of antibody testing is to confirm whether the person tested has been infected with the virus.
India is the second largest country in the world to report the cumulative number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.
According to the pandemic data released by the Ministry of Health of India on the 4th, there have been 12,899 new confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, with a total of 10790,183 confirmed cases; 107 new deaths, with a total of 154,703 deaths.
