Nguyễn Phú Trung was elected as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the third time.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam held its first plenary session on the morning of January 31 to elect Nguyen Phú Trung as the new General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Ruan Fuzhong was born in April 1944.
He is 76 years old and a native of Dongying County, Hanoi City.
He was elected as the General Secretary of the Central Committee at the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in January 2011 and the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in January 2016.
According to the agenda, the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will hold a closing ceremony on the morning of February 1, when the new Central Leading Group of the Communist Party of Vietnam will be officially unveiled.
