Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzad said on the 30th that the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, approved by the United Nations Security Council in its resolution 2231, must not be renegotiated, and its participants are clear and unalterable.
According to reports, French President Macron said recently that any new negotiations on the Iran nuclear agreement will be very “strict” and Saudi Arabia should be involved.
In response to this statement, Hatibzad issued a statement on the website of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying that the Iran nuclear agreement is a multilateral international agreement, which can never be renegotiated with the approval of the United Nations Security Council in its resolution 2231, and its participants are clear and unalterable.
Khatibzad also said that if there is any willingness to restore and save the Iran nuclear agreement, it is “easy” to solve this problem.
The United States should return to the Iran nuclear agreement and lift the sanctions imposed by the previous U.S. government against Iran.
Khatibzad said that the sale of large quantities of weapons by Western countries to Gulf countries is the main cause of instability in the region.
If this situation continues, regional peace and tranquility cannot be achieved.
In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany. Under the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.
In May 2018, the U.S. government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.
Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some of the terms of the agreement, but promised to take measures “reversible”.
