It is reported that because a two-thirds majority of the Senate is needed to convict Trump, Democrats need the support of at least 17 Republican senators.
But some Republican senators pointed out that the vote and the Trump impeachment case officially heard in early February are “a completely different problem”.
Although this vote believes that impeaching Trump is unconstitutional, this does not mean that they will not support the conviction of Trump at the formal hearing.
