Starting from the 23rd of this month, anti-curfew protests have occurred in many parts of the Netherlands, which quickly turned into riots and conflicts.
In the latest clash between police and demonstrators, at least 10 policemen were injured, and shops in several cities such as Rotterdam, Amsterdam and The Hague were robbed.
Dutch police strongly condemned the riots, saying that it had nothing to do with citizens’ right to demonstrate.
Dutch police said on the 26th that at least 184 people suspected of participating in demonstrations and riots across the Netherlands have been arrested.
Recently, in response to the continued spread of COVID-19, the Dutch government has taken the most severe measures since the beginning of the epidemic, including curfews.
This is the first curfew has been imposed in the Netherlands since World War II.
