Rumors that Donald Trump is about to form a new political party have become more and more serious after leaving the White House and promised to come back.
Although the former president has not announced any such plans, many of his supporters support the new so-called “Patriot Party”.
According to Forbes, George Papadopoulos tweeted, “The Patriot Party will be the third largest party of reliability.” Lou Dobbs of Fox Business News said the name was “very good”.
And far-right social media celebrities such as Lynn Wood spread the “Patriot Party” logo with a lion design.
In recent days, searches for “patriots” on Google have surged, and the word has become more popular than “Republican” or “Democratic Party”.
However, the “Patriot Party” is a registered trademark and is not under Donald Trump’s name, according to the report.
According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the ownership of the name is in the hands of Florida native Donald Magal, registered in January 2020.
The report also said that the data showed that Magal was the founder of the “Patriot Party” website.
The website’s statement said that the “patriots” want to “mobilize patriots at all levels of government to replace Democrats and Republicans and break their political repression”.
“The ‘Patriot Party’ has been registered and has similar purposes, and it’s a hassle if Trump or anyone else want to use the name,” lawyer Eric Pelton told the World Trademark Review.
Former President Trump’s remarks when he left the White House last Wednesday prompted speculation about his future.
“We’re going to be back in some form,” he said.
The report said that his first statement after leaving office fueled this speculation.
