Jan. 25 U.S. media reported on the 24th that the U.S.-Mexico border recently found the remains of 19 victims died of gunshot wounds, the remains were all charred.
According to the U.S. “New York Post” news, the Mexican police revealed on the 22nd, they found these remains in a no-man’s land in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, which is about 40 miles from the U.S. city of Rio Grande, Texas.
The Mexican side revealed that police found the remains inside and behind a burned-out pickup truck, and a second charred car was found at the scene.
Prosecutors said in a statement that a preliminary investigation showed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound, followed by an arson attack on the remains.
However, no bullet casings were found at the scene.
A source close to the investigation told the media that violence related to drug trafficking is a frequent occurrence in the area.
Mexico has been plagued by violent drug cartels and gangs, which kill thousands of people every year.
