Nultan, January 21 Tashkent news: Uzbek police released information on the 21st local time that Ukrainian law enforcement officials arrested several members of an extremist organization in Syr-Kore State on suspicion of illegally spreading extremist ideas and funding international terrorist organizations in Syria.
In a statement, the local internal affairs department of Ukraine pointed out that two leaders of the extremist organization were influenced by international terrorist organizations while working abroad and used social media to spread extremist ideas upon returning home.
The statement also pointed out that members of the extremist organization claimed to raise funds for the reconstruction of the local mosque, and in fact the funds eventually flowed to international terrorist organizations in Syria.
They also planned to travel to Syria for “Operation War”.
Citing expert analysis, Central Asia News Network pointed out that international terrorism and extremist organizations have not stopped infiltrating Central Asian countries, and the number of extremists returning from Syria to Central Asia is “large” and has become one of the main threats affecting the security of Central Asia.
The internal affairs department of Ukraine did not disclose details such as the number of arrested suspects.
At present, the relevant departments are conducting a criminal investigation into the arrested suspect.
Since last year, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have arrested many groups of extremist groups of suspects.
