According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on January 20, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Mulashko said at a meeting with representatives of various regions that the Russian Ministry of Health has received the registration document for the coronavirus vaccine of the Chumakov Center for the Research and Development of Immunobiological Agents of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He said that the document had been sent to the expert for appraisal, and the problem of national registration would be solved after the appraisal.
“In this way, Russia will have a vaccine developed in three different processes, which will undoubtedly make an important contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” Murashko noted.
In August, the Russian Ministry of Health, the world’s first coronavirus vaccine developed by the National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Gamalya, was named “Sputnik V”.
This vaccine is an adenovirus vector vaccine, and its important advantages are safe, effective and free of long-term side effects.
Later, the “EpiVacCorona” coronavirus vaccine developed by the Russian National Science Center for Virology and Biotechnology was also registered. The above two vaccines have been supplied and started.
