January 18th – The severity of the epidemic in the United States continues to cause concern to the American media.
A U.S. scientist said that the number of actual infections in the country may be more than currently recorded, with a single-day confirmed case of nearly one million.
In just over 10 days since January, the United States has recorded more than 3.9 million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and more than 51,000 deaths, according to CNN.
The total number of coronavirus deaths in the United States is rapidly approaching 400,000.
This is equivalent to the total number of deaths of the United States in World War I, the Vietnam War and the Korean War, and the same number of deaths in the United States in World War II.
At present, there are about 200,000 new confirmed cases in the United States in a single day.
But a recent study suggests that the number of infections in the U.S. is actually several times higher than recorded.” The number is very terrible. Dr. Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor Medical College in the United States, estimates that the number of new confirmed cases in the United States may be close to one million in a single day.
The spread has reached a “squealing level” and people are feeling scared and uneasy, and there will be a lot of work to be done starting Jan. 20.
