January 18th – The public health department of California, the United States, said that the distribution of the specific batch of Moderna coronavirus vaccine was requested to be suspended due to the large number of allergic events.
According to the Russian satellite news agency and California local media abc7, the California health department said on the 17th that the batch of Moderna coronavirus vaccine named “041L20A” is suspected to cause “more adverse events than usual” and should be suspended until the investigation is completed.
At present, Moderna, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Food and Drug Administration are participating in the investigation.
In early January, more than 330,000 doses of specific batches of vaccines were distributed to 287 health care providers in California, the report said.
However, a community vaccination clinic report pointed out that the number of allergic reactions to vaccines in 24 hours was as high as 10 times, which is considered an unusually high figure.
State officials say the rate of allergic reactions to similar vaccines expected is usually about one in 100,000.
