“In light of the current events across the country, a decision to lock down jails to ensure the safety of all institutions has been made out of caution,” the U.S. Bureau of Prisons said in a statement.
The bureau said that the decision to blockade was to prevent it in advance, and there were no specific incidents of violence in the prison at present.
