TASS published an interview with Medvedev, Vice President of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on the 16th.
Medvedev said that the new U.S. government may maintain its hostile policy towards Russia, and expects Russian-US relations to be extremely cold in the coming years.
Medvedev said that Russia is ready to cooperate with the United States in repairing relations between the two countries, but the United States does not necessarily have similar intentions.
He said that in recent years, no matter who is in charge of the White House, the relationship between the two countries has declined, and the new U.S. government is likely to pursue a consistent anti-Russian policy.
Medvedev also pointed out that it is difficult for all countries in the world to cooperate with the United States now, and the United States is beginning to become more and more unpredictable, hoping that the United States can shoulder the corresponding international responsibilities.
Medvedev also stressed that the chaos currently taking place in the United States, including the impact on Congress, shows that the events initiated by the United States in the past when it called “democratizing” other countries have also begun to occur in the United States.
