January 15, the Russian satellite news agency quoted the Greek Athens News Agency (AMNA) as saying that the Greek Parliament voted to approve the procurement agreement for 18 French fourth-generation multi-purpose fighter aircraft between the Ministry of Defense and Dasssault.
According to the agreement, the Greek Ministry of Defense will purchase 12 old aircraft and 6 new aircraft. The first six old aircraft will arrive in Greece six months after the contract is signed (July 2021).
For reasons of confidentiality, the bill published by Parliament does not specify the technical performance, weapon equipment and price of aircraft.
An official in Greece earlier revealed that the total price of 18 aircraft is 1.92 billion euros, and another 400 million euros will be used to purchase supporting weapons, including meteor missiles, and the necessary upgrades to the existing missiles to adapt them to the new aircraft.
