January 14, 2021, on this extraordinary day when the Yangon Municipal Government and all citizens jointly held the anti-epidemic position and fought against the novel coronavirus, the ICBC Yangon Branch and the authorities of Kmayut, Myanmar, held a donation of special ambulances to fight against the epidemic, jointly contributing to Myanmar’s anti-epidemic work..
Yangon City is the main battlefield of Myanmar’s fight against the epidemic. More than 85% of the country’s diseases originate from Yangon, and now it has exceeded 85,000 cases.
The rapid outbreak of the second wave of the epidemic has brought great challenges to Yangon municipal management and the operation of the medical system.
As one of the central Yangon areas, Kamayut District needs to face more pressure such as epidemic prevention, isolation, relief and treatment. The municipal government actively protects, formulates and implements national anti-epidemic measures, effectively ensuring social and economic stability and people’s health and safety.
However, due to the outbreak of the epidemic far faster than expected, the anti-epidemic work still faces some difficulties. The lack of sufficient ambulances is one of the urgent problems to be solved at present. After understanding the situation, ICBC Yangon Branch actively fulfills its corporate social responsibility.
In line with the development concept of financial service society and financial return society, it donated charity ambulances to the Kamayut District Government to help the authorities fight the epidemic.
This donation activity is not only a positive reflection of Chinese-funded enterprises’ fulfillment of social responsibilities in Myanmar, but also under the background of the continuous deepening of economic and trade exchanges between China and Myanmar after the visit of Foreign Minister Wang Yi of the Chinese Government.
ICBC made a contribution to build a Sino-Myanmar economic corridor, give full play to the role of China-Myanmar financial bridge and promote the construction of a community of destiny between China and Myanmar.
Active efforts, I hope that all sectors of society can continue to fight against the epidemic together, help medical construction, and benefit the general public of Myanmar.
